As a result of a research into NURBS-curves of CAD programs a physical translation, the desk light ‘bend_u’, was created.
For the exhibition The Machine ‘Computer Augmented Craft’ was turned from a simulation into an executable digital interface. Which recommends decisions to the designer whilst he/she works.

The Group project is a project commissioned by Itay Ohaly for The Machine exhibition in the C-Mine in Genk, Belgium. Each part of the chair, lamp and table are design by a different designer. The legs of the table are my contribution.
Instead of a classic four leg construction, this side table is standing on 15 legs. Therefor each leg can be thinner and support a delicate surface evenly.

Based on the geometry of a simple sphere, a faceted polygon surface was generated. This polygon surface was then printed on parchment, cut out and glued together. This project was done, as part of the refabrik exhibition together with manystudio and later developed further to a refined product to be sold.
A chesterfield deep buttoned armchair reinterpret by reconstructing it through polygon surfaces in a computer program. As part of the refabriek project together with manystudio I transformed the digital model to a 2D developable surface, printed it and rebuilt it in paper. Continue Reading →

Paper cast is a process of the Refabriek exhibition of manystudio at the Dutch Design Week 2011. It is linked to the process of Thomas Vailly – shapeless objects by the similar application of epoxy resin.
As part of the Refabriek project together with manystudio I created a physical representation of a digital shaped skull.
Light Connection is a lamp with out screwed or clued connections (except the light bulb).

A polystyrene model is buried in casting sand. During the casting process the liquid aluminum burns the polystyrene away and replaces its position. The result is a same looking model but with different physical attributes. This work was shown on the DDW 2010 by Beeldenstorm.
Layer was a semester project at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd for a fictive client Grundig. I created an entertainment system, with transparent OLED displays which could slide in three joints aligned parallel to each other. The overlapping of the displays resulted in a overlapping of the content of each display. Continue Reading →
As part of my diploma thesis for my “Diplom Designer (FH)” degree at the university of applied science Schwäbisch Gmünd I created a hypothetical platform for an open creative process.

Threechter is a funnel with three exits, which makes it possible to share a liquid almost even between three parties. Especially when you have to share the last bit of the bottle nobody get the feeling of getting too much or being neglected.
This poster series was created for a seminar series of the university of applied science Schwäbisch Gmünd. During a school intern competition this design was chosen to be published.
